“It’s a big year for myself, it’s my 20th anniversary,” he said.
“I really wanted to do something different this year. Over the years I’ve done lots of ticketed gigs in different venues.
“I wanted to do a free show in the park.
“It’s a great atmosphere and has a great vibe.”
He said while the concert will be a family friendly one, he’s not “going soft” and he’s promised a party.
“I’m not going soft in my old age,” he said.
“I’ve got a DJ to really pump up some awesome country music.
“I’ve got the Viper Creek Band as a special guest.”

He’s also asked emerging artist Blake O’Connor to sing on the stage after coming across the talented act at the CMAA Academy of Country Music.
“He absolutely blew me away,” Brand told The Leader.
“It’s a 20-years show, I’ll be playing songs from throughout my career.
“A lot of old songs, a bit of a journey through the albums.”
Brand said he finds it hard to believe he’s notched up 20 years at Tamworth, but has enjoyed every moment.

“It’s been a roller coaster, an incredible experience and this town has changed my life,” he said.
“I know a lot of people come to this town searching and looking for dreams, and a lot of people find it in this town.
“For so many people, Tamworth holds a special place in their hearts and their lives.”
He’s also up for two golden guitars at the 2018 awards to be held on Saturday.
“It’s really nice to be recognised with nominations.
“But having said that there are so many great artists that are finalists this year,” he said.
“I don’t get my hopes up with them, but they’re fantastic. I am feeling lucky and blessed to have won 12 in my career.”
