
VALE Clive Dixon.
Renowned racehorse trainer Clive Dixon passed away on Saturday.
He was 87.
Dixon was the trainer of many topflight gallopers.
They include Another Drive, Magucy, Amaretto, Stargaze, Tar Prince and Kerei.
He is survived by his wife Ivy, his son Robert and daughters Peta, Tracey and Maryanne.
He is also survived by his elder brother Syd, 97, and his sister Maria, 85.
He had six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Dixon was born in Inverell in 1931. He and Ivy later lived in Moree, Glen Innes and Grafton.
It was in Grafton that he retired.
His funeral will be conducted at the Christ Church Anglican cathedral in Grafton on Thursday.
It starts at 10.30am.
The wake will he staged at Grafton District Services Club at 12 noon.
Last year, Clive and Ivy, who hails from Wee Waa, celebrated 60 years of marriage.
