The hard-hitting all rounder was overlooked for Ashes and one-day international duties, but selectors drafted the much-maligned Victorian into their T20 squad after another strong season in the Big Bash.

Sydney Sixer Ben Dwarshuis is the bolter in the T20 squad, the left-arm quick brought in after producing his most consistent season in the magenta this season.

David Warner will captain the T20 side, and is the only player who crosses over into the Test squad which will tour to South Africa in March.

Warner will miss the warm-up match in South Africa which starts a day after the Tri-Series final, but will be flown to South Africa in time for the first test.

West Australian Jhye Richardson was a shock call up to the Test squad, while Jon Holland will be taken over as a second spin option.

Ashton Agar was expected to fulfil that role, but will play in the T20s instead.
