The biennial New England Merino Field Days drew Merino enthusiasts from across Australia and overseas.
Nineteen studs were on display or open to the public for the recent biennial New England Merino Field Days.
Held on January 12 and 13 hundreds of visitors – including Merino breeders and commercial growers – took advantage of the opportunity to have a look at arguably some of the best genetics in the region.
On the Friday Alfoxton (Armidale), Cressbrook (Armidale), Deeargee, Stanley Vale and Whyworry Park (all Uralla) Merino studs opened their gates, while at the Uralla Showground Airlie, Clovernook, Kurrajong Park, Maister’s Swamp, Waverley Downs and Yooroooga studs had sheep and wool on display.
Then on Saturday a courtesy bus left Uralla at 7.45am taking visitors to Westvale, Shalimar Park, Nerstane, Karori, Yalgoo, Mirramoona, Petali and Queenlee studs.
