A MAN with warrants out for his arrest has been charged after a police pursuit in Tamworth.
Police from the Tamworth Target Action Group (TAG) tried to stop a blue Holden Commodore in Petra Avenue about 10.30pm on Sunday but allege the driver failed to stop.
A police pursuit was initiated through several streets, a spokesperson confirmed.
The chase lasted just a couple of minutes, police said, before a 26-year-old male allegedly fled the vehicle on foot in Cossa Street.
He was arrested by officers and taken to Tamworth Police Station where checks revealed he had warrants out for his arrest.
The 26-year-old was charged with police pursuit Skye’s Law, driving while disqualified, using an unregistered and uninsured vehicle and an outstanding revocation of parole warrant.
He was refused bail.
