A WOMAN has received stitches after she was allegedly glassed during a violent confrontation in the front yard of a Tamworth house.
A 31-year-old woman has been charged with reckless wounding and has been granted bail, accused of striking the 25-year-old woman several times in the head and arm.
The incident unfolded in the front yard of a Goonoo Goonoo Road house about 1.30am on Monday.
“It will be alleged the woman assaulted the 25-year-old several times using a glass,” Oxley Chief Inspector Phil O’Reilly told The Leader.

“This caused some lacerations to the head and arm which required hospital treatment.”
The 25-year-old was taken to Tamworth hospital where she received stitches for her injuries and has since been released.
Police were alerted and a woman was taken into custody in Coledale shortly after.
“A 31-year-old was arrested a short time after after a vehicle was stopped in Sussex Street,” Chief Inspector O’Reilly said.
“She was taken to Tamworth Police Station and charged with one count of reckless wounding.”
A crime scene was set-up at the home and officers stood guard for hours until forensic officers arrived on Monday morning.
The officers were seen photographing the front yard where several yellow markers were scattered across the yard. Police have confirmed a broken glass was also seized from the scene.
Chief Inspector O’Reilly said the incident was not random and preliminary investigations had revealed the women are known to one another.
A 45-year-old was allegedly stabbed several times during an altercation in a Brewery Lane property on Wednesday morning.
No charges had been laid but police said the woman was assisting with inquiries.

A WOMAN has been charged with allegedly wounding another woman during an incident in Tamworth overnight.
Police said a 25-year-old woman suffered lacerations to her head and arm during a confrontation in the yard of a Goonoo Goonoo Road house, about 1.30am on Monday.
The woman was taken to hospital and was treated by doctors where she received stitches for lacerations.
Police were alerted and set-up a crime scene at the Goonoo Goonoo Road house, with the yard cordoned off by officers and examined by forensic crews on Monday morning.
Police will allege the 25-year-old woman was assaulted by a 31-year-old woman who was armed with a glass.
The 31-year-old was arrested a short time after the alleged incident during a vehicle stop in Sussex Street, Coledale.
She was taken to Tamworth Police Station and charged with malicious wounding.
She was still in custody on Monday morning, police said.
