The Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked to reports of a single-vehicle car accident between Nymboida and North Dorrigo about 2am today.
Crews were unable to land at the scene because it was so densely forested, a Westpac Rescue Helicopter spokesman told The Leader.
“The helicopter landed at Coutts Crossing,” the spokesman said.
“The patient was transferred to us by road ambulance and then transferred to Tamworth hospital.”
The patient, a 19-year-old woman, sustained a serious leg injury in the accident.
She remains in a stable condition, the spokesman confirmed.
It comes as NSW Police’s 17-day Christmas-New Year statewide road blitz, Operation Safe Arrival, wraps up at 11.59pm midnight tonight.
