Police have been told the man was behind the wheel of the heavy vehicle, laden with close to 40 tonnes of hay bails about 9am.
The driver was travelling along Davidsons Lane when he moved to allow another vehicle to pass the truck, police said.
At that moment, police have been told the wheels on the trailer fell off the tarred roadway, shifting part of the load, which included several 500kg bales of hay.
The trailer started to sway, before toppling over on its side, narrowly missing a powerpole and nearby property fence.
The driver was not injured in the rollover but managed to climb from the cabin and raise the alarm.
Police were called to divert traffic around the scene while Rural Fire Service (RFS) volunteers were on hand for any potential spill from the wreckage.
The scene was cleared and the road re-opened shortly before 12.30pm.
