New England by-election polling station attacked by vandals on polling day

VANDALS have attacked a polling station in Armidale on the day of the New England by-election.

“No Barnaby”, “No Coal Seam Gas” and “Manus” were written in pink graffiti across the front of the Town Hall.

An Armidale Regional Council spokesperson told The Leader council workers have already painted over the writing.

“Council have already painted over it, it will need a few more coats at the moment it’s just temporary,” the spokesperson said.

Vandals also attacked Barnaby Joyce’s former ministerial office in Armidale.

The incident was not reported to police.
