Tamworth is now home to top-of-the-line medical imaging equipment after an MRI machine was installed at Tamworth hospital.
Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson was on hand for the official unveiling on Friday. The $2 million piece of equipment was delicately unloaded and moved in this week.
“The winner will be the patients in hospital that can have that very, very detailed scan,” Mr Anderson said previously.
Currently, inpatients at the hospital who need scans must have them done offsite, at Castlereagh Imaging.
The MRI is able to provide imaging for neurological conditions, and spinal and other muscular and bone injuries, among other conditions.
It will be fully operational in the new year.
