Share the Dignity’s It’s in the Bag campaign has now opened with locals invited to fill bags with items considered a necessity for the modern woman.
Bunnings Warehouse and Commonwealth Bank Branches across the region have been named as collection points where locals can drop off their kind donations.
To help out, it’s simply, donate a new or nearly new handbag that you no longer use – then fill it with items that will make a difference to the daily life of a homeless woman including basic essentials such as pads, tampons, deodorants, toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo and soap.
The next step is to add the little luxuries including lip balm, socks, a brush or magazine that could make a woman or teenage girl feel special.
Community members have until Friday, December 2 to drop off their donations to Bunnings Warehouses and Commonwealth Bank branches across the region for distribution by Christmas.
