POLICE are combing the insides of two vehicles seized after a pursuit through Tamworth in the early hours of Monday.

About 12.35am, Oxley Highway Patrol officers spotted two vehicles travelling west at speeds estimated to be in excess of 100km/h on the Oxley Highway at Westdale.
Officers conducted a u-turn in the 70km per hour zone and attempted to catch up to the Grey Mazda and Mitsubishi Lancer before calling a pursuit.
Police chased both vehicles for more than one minute before the chase was abandoned due to safety concerns.
Shortly after officers found two men near one of the vehicles in Lindsay Dr. Both were arrested at the scene and were taken to Tamworth Police Station for questioning, but released without charge.
The second car was found nearby. The vehicles, both reported stolen to police, were seized for forensic testing.
Police said investigations into the pursuit continue.
