Rasmussen’s crowning moment came at the Secondary CIS Carnival on September 20.
The young gun was competing in the 12-15 years boys AWD and bagged four medals for his efforts.
Rasmussen has been competing at this level since Year 4 and said he enjoyed long jump the most.
It shows, too, with the athlete picking up a silver in the event along with another second placing in the 200-metre race.
He also picked up bronzes in the 100-metre and 800-metre races.
Parker’s talents lie in longer distance events.
She competed in her first open competition – the Australian Cross Country Championships – on August 26 in Woolongong and surprised herself with a bronze medal in the para 16-20 years girls event.

- Tayla Parker
“I’m pretty proud of that,” Parker said.
“I’ve been in the top three every time I’ve gone to nationals since 2012.
