Man hit by cow while loading cattle truck transferred to Newcastle

UPDATE: The man injured in a cattle-loading accident on Sunday has been airlifted to Newcastle for surgery.

The 38-year-old man was knocked over by a cow while loading a cattle truck near Warialda on Sunday.

He was taken to Tamworth hospital. 

But overnight, the Tamworth-based Westpac Rescue Helicopter has flown the man to John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle for surgery.

EARLIER: A MAN remains in hospital after being hit by a cow.

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked to retrieve a 38-year-old man from Moree hospital overnight after he’d been hit by a cow while loading a cattle truck at Warialda late yesterday.

The man, who suffered a serious chest injury, was flown to Tamworth hospital for further treatment.
