Released in late September, the rocking country instrumental demonstrates the versatility of the musicians who hail from both NSW and Queensland.
Four of the five ‘Spurs’, Michael Cole, Jared Adlam, Zachary Miller and Reece Baines met on the Gold Coast while studying a Bachelor of Popular Music degree.
Despite their differing musical backgrounds they connected immediately and began recording and playing gigs together.
Fast forward a few years and throw the Tamworth Country Music Festival in the mix and we have Karlee Simmonds and Michael Cole meeting at the Country Music Cocktails event where they were both featured.
The rest is history and they now share the same name.
Having toured extensively with artists including Toyota Star Maker winner Jared Porter, APRA Award winner Aleyce Simmonds and Universal’s latest signing Tori Forsyth, the natural progression was to form their own entity and begin creating original music.
“The chemistry between us all has been strong right from day one,” Jared Adlam said.
“I was asked to write a jingle for the Tamworth Country Music Festival, came up with a few ideas, and the rest is history,” Michael Cole said.
Stampede, their first instrumental single was written and arranged by Michael, Jared, Zach and Reece and recorded between the states in several studios with plenty more to come from the band from here-on-in.
