While the Warriors always looked in control, North Tamworth kept on coming.
The win was put beyond doubt when player of the match Kim Resch grabbed a late double to complete the unbeaten year.
“You have to cherish those moments. You don’t get many undefeated seasons,” Collegian coach Tim Walsh said after the match.
“When we play against Norths, it’s always a close game. It’s the same with Gunnedah as well.
“We were expecting a close game and it blew out at the end.”
The match was in the balance at 14-6 at half-time before Resch’s pair of tries which capped off a stellar match for the playmaker.
Walsh thought Resch was deserving of the award but also said there were plenty of other players who played their part in the win.
“She’s a class player,” Walsh said of Resch.
“We could have given it to six different players today, there was a couple players that really stood out in my eyes.”
Along with Resch, Amy Barraclough had a big game.
Barraclough controlled the match with her kicking game and sent home four goals as well.
Leica Le Brocq led from the front for North Tamworth.
Abby Schmiedel and Sophie Barr scored the other tries for Collegian while Taylor Holcombe scored the sole try for North Tamworth.
