Residents, councillors and police have all called for measures to be put in place at the intersection of Browns Ln and Moore Creek Rd after a collision on Friday left a motorcyclist with “significant injuries”.
The intersection has been a bugbear for the community who have petitioned Tamworth Regional Council for a roundabout.
In June, Council had double line markings painted on Moore Creek Road to stop any vehicles from attempting to overtake.
In coming weeks signs with flashing lights will also go up, to make the intersection more visible.
Resident Amanda Boyd led the petition and said the only long-term solution would be a roundabout.
“It’s not just the residents, it’s the visitors and other people in the community calling for it, so the sooner the better,” she said.

Tamworth councillor Mark Rodda said a roundabout “was overdue”. Council has sought $800,000 federal funding from the 2018/19 blackspot programme, but Cr Rodda would like to see progress sped up.
“In light of this accident, I would be more than happy to raise the question to see if we can fast-track construction,” he told The Leader.
Emergency services were called to the intersection on Friday where there was a collision between a motorcycle and a Honda CRV. Oxley highway patrol Sergeant Michael Buko said inquiries into the crash were continuing.
"A 48-year-old man was riding a motorbike south on Moore Creek Rd, as he approached the intersection there was a collision with the other vehicle," he said.
Sgt Buko said the intersection had been raised previously in traffic committees that involved several stakeholder groups. "There definitely needs to be some sort of speed measuring device in place in that intersection, as there has been a few accidents in the last nine months," Sgt Buko said.
