Kootingal-Moonbi have secured the minor premiership and Barraba have a lock on second spot, but the battle for the third and fourth spots rages on.
Bendemeer, coming off a 22-20 loss to the Roosters at Kootingal last round, occupy third spot on 27 points and face five-placed Boggabri at home on Saturday.
Boggabri are on 25 points. As are sixth-placed Bundarra, who travel to Walcha. Fourth-placed Manilla also sit on 27 points and face the Roosters in Kootingal.
Roosters coach Paul Hyson said it had been one of the best Second Division seasons in recent memory. “It should be a really good finals series,” he said. “Every team is in there with a chance, that’s for sure.”
Elsewhere, Dungowan host Barraba and Uralla host Werris Creek.
