Gunnedah will have to adjust from the big build up to their match against Narrabri last round and try to mentally prepare for what should be a much easier assignment this week – the Collegian Warriors.
The second-placed Bulldogs produced perhaps their best performance of the year in beating the Blues 55-22 in Narrabri on Sunday.
At Kitchener Park on Saturday, the Bulldogs will face a Collegian side who are coming off a 32-26 win over fellow strugglers Wee Waa.
Fresh in Gunnedah’s minds will be their last match against the Warriors, when skipper Callum Hayne scored late in the match to break a 28-all deadlock.
Following the close call, Bulldogs coach Sean Hayne said: “In all honesty, they played better than us. They wanted it more.”
On Thursday, Hayne said he would address that attitude issue at training that night.
“We’ll go over what happened last time and make sure we turn up with the right attitude,” he said.
