An Inverell man is facing a string of charges after an alleged assault at a local hotel.

The 47-year-old has been refused bail after he was arrested on Byron St in Inverell, on Wednesday afternoon.
Police allege he assaulted another man at the Empire Hotel and then turned on officers when they were called about 4pm.
The 47-year-old is accused of using offensive language and resisting police attempts to arrest him.
He was eventually arrested and taken to Inverell Police Station where he allegedly urinated on the floor of the dock and wall, while in police custody.
The man is facing charges of common assault, two counts of malicious damage, failing to leave a licensed premises, two counts of re-entering a licence premises after being excluded, offensive behaviour and resisting police.
He’s been refused bail to appear in Inverell Local Court.
