The Tamworth and West Tamworth fire stations will throw open their doors to the public on Saturday.
Families are encouraged to come along and meet their local crews and learn more about fire prevention.
There’ll be firefighting demonstrations, tours and safety presentations on offer.
Firefighters will also be able to provide advice on installing or replacing smoke alarms, and preparing a home fire escape plan.
The stations will be open from 10am until 2pm.
This year, Fire and Rescue NSW is focusing on fire prevention in the kitchen, urging people to “Keep Looking When Cooking”.
The Open Day is also an opportunity for local experts to talk to the community about replacing their outdated alarms with the 10-year lithium powered devices.
