Volunteer coordinator Marjie Warren said including school students, the organisation had about 100 volunteers. They do everything from reading to residents to beauty therapy.
“They do so much, and it really makes [the resident’s] day,” she said.
Glenda Goodchild’s mother was a resident at the Mckay House before she passed away 10 years ago, and Ms Goodchild has been coming ever since.
“It becomes your second home, you get so involved with the beautiful people here,” Ms Goodchild said.
“We get so much out of it. My mum might have gone, but look at all the mums I’ve got now.”
