Captain Clark has been named as the new head of the Carthage St station, replacing Gerry Cannon who retired after 60-years of service.
Mr Clark has been a firefighter for five years and serves as part of the retained crew.
He also operates Kookaburra Kitchens in Tamworth and has done so for more than 15 years.
He told The Leader he was enjoying the job so far.
“It’s a privilege and an honour,” Captain Clark said.
“It’s a position that I feel comfortable in, as a leadership position, because I operate a small business in Tamworth. “I enjoy being in a community minded job, I enjoy serving the community and helping people out and addressing their needs.”
Captain Clark said he looked forward to bringing the core values of the fire brigade of service, integrity and courage into the community and described former Captain Cannon as a mentor.
