Tyler Nagle, Molly Moroney and Danielle Wallace will take part in the charity bike ride on April 2, to help raise funds and awareness for Youth Insearch.
Tyler, a Youth Insearch leader, said his cycling experience was limited to riding down the street, but is keen to tackle the 115km course – but his teammates are strongly in favour of the 25km route.
Youth Insearch New England coordinator David Allard said Rotary, the event organisers, had supported the charity for about 20 years.
“It’s really important people get behind these events, because they don’t just help us, they help the Banksia mental health unit,” he said.
“Pedal the Peel has one of the cheapest entry fees and most of the money comes straight back to us.
“I’ve only got to look at these three to see the difference it makes.
“I first met Tyler when he was a trainee leader, and in that time I saw an incredible change in this young, to go from struggling in high school to being top of his class and class president.
“You can’t put a price on the impact this has on the lives of these young people.”
