The tournament will be held at Speers Point in September, and see senior women's teams across Northern NSW have the opportunity to play against senior teams from other zones and from within the Herald Women's Premier League competition for the first time in a sanctioned competition.
The establishment of the Women's State Cup was a strategic initiative for Northern NSW Football in the 2016-2019 Strategic Plan as it aims to lift the number of female registered players to 25% by 2020.
The men’s State Cup which was introduced in 2012 enabled NNSWF to easily transition into the National FFA Cup competition in 2015.
