With her newly released single That’s A Tradie topping the Top 40 country charts, things are looking good for the Country star and she’s happy to share her success with her fans.
“It’s been terrific,” Kernaghan said following the February album release.
“I can’t believe how much That’s a Tradie has gone off, the radio have been giving it heaps of air time which is awesome.
“I don’t think, to my knowledge, there was ever a song that was written for tradies.
“When I see it at number one on the top 40 country songs, it’s wonderfully indicative of how many radio stations out there are playing it and supporting it.”
Kernaghan says her latest album, which debuted at sixth on the ARIA charts, is an “extension” of who she is as a person and believed authenticity was key to producing good music.
“You have to be authentic and be yourself,” she said.
”You have to be comfortable in your own skin and at that stage in life I think for me it translates so well and connects with audiences. They understand that I’m talking about real life experiences.”
The older I get the more I realise what’s important in life and I also wanted to make an album that was positive, happy and uplifting and would make people feel good.

“I guess success with a new album is even more rewarding knowing how darn hard you worked,” she said.
As for the rest of the year, Kernaghan is about to hit the road and continue filming for popular caravan and camping show What’s Up Down Under she’s also supporting her brother Lee Kernaghan in 30 shows on his 25th anniversary tour.
There’s also more shows on the cards for Kernaghan too.
“The older I get the more I realise what’s important in life and I also wanted to make an album that was positive, happy and uplifting and would make people feel good,” she said.
“That’s how I feel about my life right now, I am in a very happy place.”
