Water main works began on the project this week with the work set to continue until March 17.

The major project will also see the replacement of the kerb and guttering on the thoroughfare along with improvements to drainage and an upgrade to the busy roadway.

The roadwork component of the project is expected to begin on March 20 and will finish just before Easter on April 13.

Council says while the water main works are undertaken, there will be times when changed traffic conditions will be in place. The street will remain open to two lanes of traffic and the northern parking lanes will be temporarily closed while the construction works are occurring.
