“We were 50/50 about going due to the heat but the horses deserved the opportunity,” said Richard Williams.
“We thought we might strike while the iron was hot.”
After a last start win at Tamworth, Coralie Joy made it back to back wins when successful at Newcastle in taking out the Pacers Restaurant Chargrill Pace (1609m) with a mile rate of 1.56.7.
“It was a personal best by the mare” added Williams “and for the owners Darcel and her husband Alan - the mare is their pride and joy”
After racing in Queensland, Coralie Joy has thrived under Williams’ training in NSW with four starts for the stable producing a placing and then two wins.
“We will give her another start at Tamworth next Sunday and then see where to from there – she has gone from a C1-C3 in three weeks,” added Williams.
