Mick Pearson Pest Solutions is helping keep fire crews cool during this heatwave – as blistering temperatures and strong winds make for unprecedented fires gripping parts of NSW – by donating bottles of water and lollies.
Staff filled the back of a 4WD with water bottles and gifted them to Fire & Rescue Zone Superintendent Tom Cooper on Monday, to distribute to local crews.
It comes as firefighters from Tamworth, Gunnedah, Narrabri assist their south-western counterparts battling fires in the Coolah region.
“It’s a gift of appreciation because we have the utmost appreciation for what they do,” business owner Deb Pearson said.
“We’re just a local family business wanting to give back.
“It won’t help much, but hopefully it puts a smile on their faces. If everybody does a little bit, it might make a difference.”
