After originally deciding to reduce the overs and add more drinks breaks, the TDCA made the decision on Saturday morning to call off all grade games.
“We have taken on board the recommendation from Cricket NSW and feel that player and umpire safety is of the most importance” the post on the TDCA website said.
“It’s the first time it’s ever happened,” TDCA president Ben Middlebrook said.
The first day of the second last round of two-dayers, Middlebrook said they would see if they could find a date to reschedule. If they can’t, the games will revert to one-dayers for two-day points.
With extreme temperatures predicted for Sunday, Northern Inland Cricket Council officials not long after called off Sunday’s final round Connolly Cup fixtures.
The NICC had already on Friday decided to postpone all junior representative games to next Sunday.
