Saunders took out the overall points classification in the Junior Women’s 15s after winning the enduro opener (eight laps) and elimination race in Adelaide.
She also picked up second in the derby sprint (three laps) and third in the scratch race and flying 250m to finish with 232 points and 62 points ahead of her nearest rival Lucinda Stewart.
Saunders, who this year will ride with the St George Cycling Club, had carried a 54 point lead into the Adelaide round, which followed rounds in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.
Her series win followed a second placing in the Division 1 juniors overall pointscore at the annual Sydney X-mas Carnivals.
Fellow Tamworth cyclists Zane Tapp (15s men) and Fletcher Partlin (17s men) also competed in the national series but didn’t make the trip down to Adelaide.
