The afternoon will get under way at 4pm, followed by light refreshments and barbecue.
The stud’s sale teams for 2017 will be on display, including two rams in full wool for sale at the Northern Merino Ram Breeders’ Association Armidale sale on February 1 and the nine woolly rams and 40 two-tooth rams for the on property sale on February 8.
Westvale was founded by Roy Blanch in 1948 and has been operating continuously ever since. Leo Blanch took control in 1958.
The stud breeds sheep suitable for the tablelands environment with body weights acceptable for meat production and wool to the highest quality possible.
Westvale bloodlines allows breeders to increase body weights and fleece weight in their sheep without jeopardising wool style and quality.
Westvale has been involved in sheep genetics since 2000, Leo Blanch said.
“This has been a great tool in selecting superior ewes and rams and improving worm resistance via WECs,” he said.
Recent highlights include ribbons from the 2016 Sydney Royal Easter Show 2016 for champion August-shorn ultrafine ram and reserve champion March-shorn ultrafine ram, as well as many prizes at New England shows.
