The waterpolo boys were beaten 12-5 by Sydney East in Thursday morning’s semifinal, before just getting pipped in the final quarter by Sydney North in the play-off for third, with Hunter going on to win the championship 7-6 over Sydney East.
Coach Sharon Grellman was very impressed with what the team had achieved, which included getting a few players to further representative honours. Isaac Moxon made the CHS firsts side, while Pat Hoffman was selected in the seconds, while Will Clinch was named as reserve and goal keeper Lachlan Wheeler was handed the encouragement award.
In Southern Sydney the cricket boys went into the final day with a chance to claim an overall third as they took on old rivals Western, while the only side to have beaten them this week MacKillop faced the unbeaten South Coast for the championship.
The boys have shown plenty of improvement over the four days, bouncing back from a loss to post two big scores to beat North Coast before dominating Polding for a 113 run victory heading into the final day.
