LAKE Keepit is the most full its been in six years as it continues to inch closer to capacity. It paved the way for a perfect day on the water on Saturday as clubs banded together to throw open the gates for the Get to Know Keepit Open Day.

Hundreds took up the free entry to lap up activities hosted by the sailing, fishing and soaring clubs, as well as Lake Keepit Inland Waters Holiday Park and the Sport and Recreation Club.
It comes off the back of a long, wet winter with Keepit now at 91 per cent capacity, boasting 425,000 megalitres.
Sailing Club commodore Ian Pike was among the SES volunteers who carried more than 400 people on 88 trips from one side of the lake to the other throughout the day.
“It was to showcase all the wonderful attributes available,” Mr Pike said.
“It was a perfect day.”
