Officers from the city wore purple clothing in support of Wear It Purple Day, which is aimed at supporting and encouraging young people in their choices.
A group of local officers set up a stand at the city’s Young Drivers Expo where they spoke to high school students from across the region.
They were joined by NSW Police Force colleagues from across the state in taking a stand and supporting lesbian, gay, bisexual, transexual and intersex people.
The annual event is about supporting young people while promoting the idea that each is unique, and that this should be freely celebrated in a safe environment.
