He’s almost in Matthew Flinders’ navigational status but just laughs off his many trips to represent NSW Country that have also taken him overseas.
“It’s been great, always an honour to represent NSW Country,” he told The Leader after Saturday’s 68-6 Group 21 win over Denman at Denman.
“Been to a few places. Be good to go to Perth too.”
Darwin, Rockhampton, the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and Forster have all been venues where he’s played for NSW Country.
“We also played the Cook Islands in Tamworth one year,” the contract carpenter said.
“Great to go to all these places for footie.
“Perth should be interesting too.
“Should be a good trip over there. The last time the Bulls were there they copped a bit of a touch up, I think. Hopefully we’ll make sure that doesn’t happen again.”
The NSW Country Bulls play Western Australia in a curtain raiser to the Manly Warringah-NZ Warriors NRL clash on Saturday night.
The 28-year-old lock has been a fixture in Group 21 and Greater Northern sides for almost a decade and no one can ever argue that he doesn’t deserve his spot.
He has been, week in and week out, one of the best players in Group 21 and has always led Group 21 with great skill, distinction and hitting power.
He’s also happy to have Thoroughbreds teammate, secondrower Tim Watson, in the side while a former Scone halfback, Aaron Watts, will coach the Country Under 18s and Tamworth’s Mick Schmiedel is their team manager.
