TAMWORTH’S Emma Klasen raced her way to the national sprint double she’s been chasing in Melbourne on the weekend.

Racing up an age made little difference for the 13-year-old as she claimed the U14 100m and 200m National All Schools titles.

After clocking 25.16secs to win the 200m on the Saturday, Klasen backed up on Sunday to add the 100m crown.
She won that in 12.49secs, the same time that she ran in the preliminaries.
It’s the first time she’s won both the 100m and 200m at the same competition – at national level.
At last year’s All Schools in Tasmania she won the 200m and was second in the 100m.
Then at the Little A’s nationals, she won gold in the 100m and silver in the 200m.
Klasen’s 4x100m relay team also took top spot on the podium, with Klasen running the second leg.
Armidale’s Stuart Geddes finished just outside the medals in his U16 2000m steeplechase placing fifth.
