And an update from the Bureau of Meteorology -
Steady rain is expected over much of the northeast today, with intermittent heavy bursts likely, particularly from thunderstorms. This heavy rain may lead to flash flooding in the Northern Rivers, Mid North Coast and eastern parts of the Northern Tablelands district.
Tonight the focus is expected to shift to the far northeast corner of the state, before easing early Thursday.
10.45am:
An accident is reportedly on the New England Highway near Uralla, there are no reports of major injuries at this stage.
10am: - Northern Tablelands
The region's SES volunteers were called to three jobs - all in the Armidale area- in the past 24 hours.
Business services officer Ben Pickup said volunteers were called to remove a tree that had fallen on the Grafton Rd this morning while two other jobs were for leaking roofs.
"We'll probably get a few more jobs, but we're not expecting anything major," he said.
"Armidale had steady rain all night and we're expecting that rain to continue and hopefully die off this afternoon."

Taylor Street crossing is closed at the Creeklands after extensive flooding.
A severe weather warning has been issued for the Northern Tablelands on Thursday.
The Bureau of Meterology issued the warning for the area along with the Norther Rivers and Mid North Coast.
The bureau says steady rain is expected, with some intermittent heavy bursts likely, particularly from thunderstorms in the rain band.
Thunderstorms and heavy rain which may lead to flash flooding.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
Don't drive, ride or walk through flood water.
Keep clear of creeks and storm drains.
If you are trapped by flash flooding, seek refuge in the highest available place and ring 000 if you need rescue.
