POLICE have charged a man in Boggabilla with firearms, stolen goods and drugs offences.
Police officers search- ed a home on Merriwa St in the town at 2.30pm on Friday and found and seized a .303 calibre rifle, several live rounds of ammunition, and a resealable plastic bag containing cannabis.
They also found goods suspected of being stolen, including power tools and a jerry can.
A 33-year-old man was arrested and charged with larceny, possess unauthorised firearm, goods suspected stolen in/on premises, possess ammunition without licence/authority/permit and possess prohibited drug.
He was refused bail and appeared at Moree Bail Court on Saturday, but the outcome of the appearance is unknown.
Electronic items stolen
OFFENDERS broke into a home on Kathleen St, South Tamworth be- tween 6pm on Friday and 1am on Saturday, stealing electronic items.
It is believed the thieves gained entry by removing a flyscreen and climbing through a window.
