The multi-award-winning and sometimes controversial country artist will release his 50th album, Honest People, on July 25.
The first single is the title track, but the clip for the second single, Clouds Over Tamworth, will be shot on location in Tamworth this weekend.
With Hats Off to Country on, it’s a perfect time for any country artist to be in Tamworth, and there’s nowhere better for Williamson to shoot the clip dedicated to the city.
Clouds Over Tamworth will be shot at Tamworth Town Hall tomorrow by award-winning director Duncan Toombs.
Williamson has long been fascinated by the cloud formations that often adorn the New England skies, but the song is about more than that.
The track is also about the Tamworth Country Music Festival and the legends who have made the Australian country music industry including Smoky Dawson, Slim Dusty and Buddy Williams and their songs.
Clouds Over Tamworth is the final track on the album and unites the music scene with observations of the ever-changing landscape in the Country Music Capital. It will possibly mean those who hear the song will now see it anew, through the eyes of this songwriter.
Clouds, and even a shower, are predicted for Tamworth tomorrow, so there’s a good chance the skies will not disappoint the songwriter with their formations over the city.
Williamson’s biography will be released on July 23.
