The teenage side had played in the NSW Country Cluster Championships at Port Macquarie and, while they lost, they did win their way to the Plate Championship.
That Plate Championship Final was played at Nelson’s Bay against Victorian Rugby League Under 15s, Group 4 winning 10-4.
They had some Melbourne Storm squad members in their team too, Group 4 Under 15 manager Gavin Anderson said.
“The boys played really well,” he said.
“Our defence was great against a massive side. The team work was very good too.”
Ethan Parry and Isaiah Milgate starred but Anderson said it was a huge team effort.
“They were huge, big as mountains, bigger than me, but the boys tackled them out of the game.”
Al Cocking scored Group 4’s first try and then Milgate crossed on the bell to seal the big win.
