While the French Open was starting in Paris with some long baseline rallies, much the same was going on at the Belmore Park courts for seniors ranging in age from 30 to 80.
West Tamworth Tennis Club president John Ball was the tournament organiser and he was happy with the way the annual seniors event went off.
“We had two glorious days with the weather,” Ball said.
“We had just over 60 players and entries were about 110, so that was pretty good.
“The only little letdown was the lack of female players.
“We didn’t get a very good response from the local ladies though – that was a bit disappointing.
“We did get a good response from the media though, NBN, Prime, ABC Radio and The Leader. We thank everyone for their help and efforts.”
