Mann shot a par round of 70 on Sunday to lead a title race where just five shots separate the top six players.
55 players teed off in Sunday’s first round (of four) of A Grade, with Mann carding 70 and then followed closely by club president Andrew Graham (71), Ben Lockwood (72), Dan Daly (73), Brendan Shoemark (73) and Chris Savoski (75).
Shoemark finished with a nett 66 to edge out Rob English (nett 67) for the handicap event.
The second round of 18 games in a 72-hole championship will be held this Sunday while the first round of the B and C Grade will be played on Saturday.
A third round of Tamworth Lady Golfer Championship play was also held yesterday with the final round tomorrow.
Tamworth Golf Club is also hosting the Central North District Golf Association Championship on Sunday, June 8.
It has A, B and C grades as well as junior and veteran divisions.
Nominations close June 1 with CNDGA secretary Harry McKerrow.
