After notching up more than 1500 followers in a day, the independent MP used one of his personal catch cries for his online debut.
“I’ve always said the world is run by those who turn up, so thanks for turning up to join me on Twitter. Should be an interesting debate”, Mr Windsor tweeted.
The late afternoon tweet came after The Leader’s story yesterday that the 62-year-old was about to take the plunge into the twittersphere, prompting a host of local and Canberra-based journalists, as well as voters, to speculate on what the independent kingpin might say first.
But Mr Windsor didn’t stop the talk there and following on from his first tweet, he kick- started debate on a number of hot topics.
But his many followers have been warned not to hold their breath for a tweet reply.
Mr Windsor said he’s “more focused on getting things done rather than telling people about it.”
