The man best known for his light-hearted T-shirts sporting some of the most outrageous and humorous messages is recovering after having had his gall bladder removed.
Playing a major part in the festival for 32 years, Dirty Pierre Sinel has donated the proceeds of his popular shirt sales to charities such as Out and About and Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service, as well as raising funds for the local hospital. He has also been very active in his charity work in Vietnam, where he lives, including his annual Santa visit to sick children in Saigon Cancer Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City.
He said the “good karma” had returned in his direction at the Tamworth hospital as he praised the good service of the nursing staff in the intensive care unit.
Hopeful that a speedy recovery will ensue, Dirty Pierre plans to drive his iconic Kombi down to Melbourne before flying back to Vietnam on February 6.
