Tamworth Jockey Club president Tim Coates and operations manager Victoria Toy are preparing for more than Sunday’s Jardel Cup-Country Music Cup meeting.
They are preparing for a new era for the club, with work on the new John Clift Stand being “walled up” this week.
With plans for a March opening, Tamworth is racing headlong into a bright future, starting with Sunday’s $30,000 Jardel Cup which attracted a strong field yesterday.
Muswellbrook Race Club ran yesterday, the annual Deepwater Cup is run tomorrow (see Page 37 for more and page 31 for Deepwater Cup fields) and Sunday’s Jardel Cup meeting completes a busy racing weekend.
Then Scone Race Club stages an eight-race program next Friday and Armidale Jockey Club has its Walcha Cup Prelude meeting on Monday week (January 28).
Nominations for Scone’s TAB meeting close 11am Monday while Armidale’s Walcha Cup Prelude meeting noms are due 11am next Tuesday.
