Tamworth hit 38 degrees Celsius, while Moree and Narrabri were 39, but the young people at the pool party at the Kootingal War Memorial Swimming Pool didn’t mind the heat.
They had the music blaring and were enjoying the school holiday activity organised by the Tamworth Youthie.
Youthie youth services co-ordinator Stephen Blanch said it was all about having a good time.
“The whole idea is just to have fun. We have a few competitions in the water with everyone and play some music. It’s the weather for it during these holidays,” he said.
“We had 380 people at our last pool party in Barraba and we will be in Manilla next, followed by Nundle and Barraba again.”
More activities planned for the holidays include live bands, pool competitions and table tennis.
The school holiday program winds up on January 25.
