Tamworth coaches Sean Hofman and Ross White oversee three teams at the harbour side Dawn Fraser Pool today, tomorrow and
Wednesday.
“The last couple of years the kids have had a good time and learnt a lot,” Hofman said.
“It’s great having three teams. We had two last year. This year we had enough to make up a mixed side as well.
“We attribute that to the development we’ve done and building up the numbers.
“The local flippa ball has always been strong and still is with about 120 playing.”
The Balmain carnival is also a good three days for the top age players who then become part of the Tamworth Under 14 boys’ and girls’ sides to play in the State Under 14 Championships on the Central Coast.
“Before that we go to Wyong in a few weeks time for an Invitational Carnival against Hunter and Central Coast. It’s the first time they’ve held it.
Wyong usually holds a senior carnival but didn’t get enough numbers so they decided to throw an Under 14 one. It’s going to be a great help for the kids before they go to state.”
