Today’s top for Tamworth is forecast to be 39 and 38 degrees for tomorrow while further west at Narrabri and Moree it will be even hotter.
Tamworth will see a week of temperatures at 37 degrees or above – that’s basically topping the old century mark – with Wednesday predicted to get to 41.
Health authorities and emergency services are warning northerners to keep safe – with the young, the elderly, and animals all vulnerable.
