Good morning everyone, RC in the chair here at Blog Central to take you through the biggest day on the Australian cricket calendar, Boxing Day. It's a beautiful day here in Melbourne for this showcase of Test cricket at the magnificent MCG, sunny skies and at expected top of a very comfortable 24 degrees. And this second Test should be a beauty, the Aussies having to work a lot harder in Hobart for victory than many expected. We'll have the teams and the toss very shortly!
And straight away, just letting you know, our man Jesse Hogan says Michael Clarke will lead Australia after convincing fellow selectors he had recovered from the hamstring strain he suffered in last week's series opener against Sri Lanka in Hobart. The captain trained strongly on Tuesday at the MCG, but stressed a decision would be left until the morning of the match. Cricket Australia confirmed this morning Clarke would play, discarding the need for Shane Watson to captain the team and Usman Khawaja to come into the line-up.
